Here’s a roundup of the new phone announcements that have taken place this past week:

SONY ERICSSON:

Sony Ericsson announced the “top-secret” versions of the SE K800 and K790 mobile phones, dubbed as the “eyes only” versions and are being used by actor Daniel Craig alongwith the M600 in the upcoming James Bond flick “Casino Royale” by Sony Pictures.
Both phones feature a rich 3.15mp camera with picture blogging software preinstalled, mp3 players with RDS FM radios. The K800 also possesses 3G capabilities. Both phones will also come preloaded with special content including James Bond wallpapers, ringtones and movie trailers.
The phones are expected to be out in Q4 2006.

PALM:

Palm announced the new Treo 680 smartphone, a new entry-level GSM smartphone for the masses. The phone features a VGA cam with an improved UI, 64MB ROM and some cool colored faceplates.
Engadget had the coverage of the event live on their website, you can read about it HERE and look at the pics HERE.
The selling price is not known yet and there still isn’t any official news on which carrier will be carrying it. On a personal note, I feel that the treo phones do look a lot better without the protruding antenna at the top.

N91 resources

I just recently got the N91 and so far its been a great phone to use.

And since i’m a mac os user, I had to do some tweaking to get my N91 to work with the powerbook’s isync. Modify the MetaClasses.plist file in the isync package. More information can be found HERE.

Nokia also has a plugin called the Nokia Music Manager that (supposedly) allows for convenient music sync with itunes on the mac. I couldn’t get it to work, but I guess its because iTunes 7 was released recently while this app was developed to work with iTunes 6. You can download it HERE.

The website n91bloggercomm.com has a great list of tips about the N91. Go to their website at n91bloggercomm.com

And if you are a fellow mac os user, you’d like to visit N91mac wordpress blog by MacBuckley from Howardforums. Its a great resource.
